Skin Tag/Thread Vein Removal Treatments at ReShapeU

How can thread veins be removed?

Treating and removing thread veins is an easy process thanks to our advanced ReShapeU Plasma Fibroblast treatment.

Our initial consultation and patch test will identify the areas of your face and body that need treatment and we’ll be able to check you will have no reaction to the treatment.

The ReShapeU Plasma Fibroblast treatment quickly and efficiently removes thread veins from the face and body using short bursts of high-frequency current passed through a small needle. This current effectively seals off the vein, allowing the body to remove it naturally.

Is it safe and does it hurt to remove the facial thread veins?

There is minimal pain or discomfort felt and no anaesthetic required. Immediately following the removal of your thread veins you will possibly find some slight redness around the treated area but this will gradually disperse over 24-48 hours (depending on the length of the treatment). It is also possible that a small scab may form due to the tiny release of some blood. But the removal of thread veins on the nose, cheeks and other facial areas is very safe with little chance of any scaring providing you follow the post care instructions given to you.

The whole treatment can be carried out within one hour (depending on the severity of your thread veins), and gives you clear, even skin after your first visit.

How does the treatment work?

The treatment is performed through tiny spots made with the device to stimulate instant contraction and tightening of skin fibres. ReShapeU Plasma Fibroblast causes sublimation which is the process of turning a solid straight into a gas so results are instant and there is no heat transferred to surrounding tissues to cause damage to normal skin. PReShapeU Plasma Fibroblast uses plasma so there is no electric current which can cause problems for some patients and the treatments result in tissue retraction and tightening which gives even better results.. The treatment is performed without causing bleeding and more importantly without causing any damage to the surrounding tissue.

Are there any side effects with the ReShapeU Plasma Fibroblast treatment?

Following ReShapeU Plasma Fibroblast treatment, tiny dark brown/black spots may appear or there may be an appearance more typical of a burn. Swelling is common and often lasts several days and can be quite significant around the eyes area. The area will often be red and warm immediately after the procedure and can be quite tender for a few days. Clients may experience a tingling or burning sensation. Crusting or a scab can develop and it is important to keep this clean, dry and protected from intense sunlight and other sources of UV light to prevent uneven pigmentation as the treated area recovers.

What about aftercare?

Immediately after treatment, there may be a burning sensation. This will usually resolve during the remainder of the day although if it is particularly uncomfortable or persists for a longer period, then an anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen can be taken. Swelling is common. This can be significant around the eyes and can last for several days and may lead to interference with vision in the initial period. Anti-inflammatory medication and/or anti-histamine may help alleviate the swelling. Crusting will usually develop over the treated area, this will often initially be brown or black on the surface of the skin and flake off over the following days. It may take over 2 weeks to completely disappear. To maximise the effects of your ReShapeU Plasma Fibroblast treatment we advise to keep the crustaceans/discoloration intact for 5-7 days and not rub them off immediately. Keep the treated area clean, away from excessive moisture and protected using a broad spectrum sunscreen. Mineral make-up may be applied from the third day of the treatment onwards. Avoid exposing the area to extremes of heat or cold until it has healed. .  If any doubt, contact the clinic for further advice.

What about downtime?

One of the major advantages of fibroblast is that it offers a much less invasive/expensive alternative to surgery as well as the time it takes to carry out. This does not mean there is no downtime, but by comparison it is minimal. You can experience significant swelling in the area treated, particularly in the eye area this diminishes over a 2-5 day period. The tiny plasma flash causes ‘crusts’ to form on the skin giving the distinctive dotting effect. These on average are gone between 5-7 days. They may also be covered over to reduce their visibility. These are cosmetic issues only, technically there is no real downtime if these visual effects are of no concern to you.
