How Does It Work?

Botulinum Toxin is a purified protein which produces a bacteria, which when carefully injected it then relaxes the contracted facial muscles. Botulinum Toxin also blocks certain chemical signals from the nerves, and so most signals that cause muscles to contract then softens the appearance of lines and wrinkles that have already formed. 

This treatment is ideal for easing any over-active muscle movement that can cause deep frown lines and crows feet among others. It can also be used to treat excessive sweating, alleviate the symptoms of migraines and redefine the jawline.

What Can I Expect In Treatment?

Your skin will be cleansed and small amounts of Botulinum Toxin are then injected into the muscles of the areas of the face to be treated. A tiny needle is used to minimise discomfort resulting in a small scratch like sensation. The number of injections needed depends on many factors, dependant on each individual and the extent of the area/s being treated.

Are There Any Side Effects?

This treatment is not painful and most clients compare the feeling to that of a quick sharp scratch. You may experience some mild swelling or bruising at the injection site but this will subside after a day or so in most cases.

How Many Treatments Would I Need?

A single treatment can last between 3-4 months depending on the individual client and areas treated.

What Results Can I Expect To See?

Results don’t show immediately and you can expect to wait a few days for the treatment to take effect but up to  2 weeks for the full effect to be seen. Results will last for a period of up to 4 months, after which many clients return for further treatments to keep the new appearance.
